About
the
Psychologist
Hi, I'm Youliana.

Over the past 8 years, I have worked with children and adolescents across a range of settings including schools, private practice, as well as with Not-For-Profit organisations as part of a multidisciplinary team. Though I loved all these roles and settings, I found I particularly enjoyed the one-on-one setting of private practice and wanted to create a space that was warm and inviting. Thus Sunflower Therapy was born.

Starting therapy can be scary, so I aim to provide a warm, non-judgemental and safe space to develop trust. My work focuses on looking for strengths and building resilience. While I have training in various approaches, I most commonly use Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT). Not sure what these mean? Don’t worry! I will always explain the type of therapy approach I think might be helpful, and answer any questions you or your child may have about it.
I am a Registered Psychologist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA), and I am also a registered Medicare provider, meaning you are able to claim Medicare rebates for our sessions.

I can't wait to work with you to help you achieve your goals!

I've always loved them, BUT ALSO, around the world, sunflowers symbolise many things, including happiness, radiance, positivity, hope, and resilience. In life, we experience hardships, sadness, hopelessness ... but through these difficulties we develop resilience. Sunflowers are a symbol of hope even during hardships.
🌻 Happiness & Radiance: The bright yellow and orange petals, and shape of the sunflower head, are symbolic of the sun, representing happiness, radiance and all things that are positive.
🌻 Positivity: No matter how small or how little light there is, sunflowers are believed to seek out the light and hold their heads high as if in adoration of the sun.
🌻 Peace & Hope: They have been shown to absorb harmful toxic elements and radiation from the soil and clean up the environment.
